Jim Barth, JD, MBA

Associate Broker

A native of Palos Verdes, CA, Jim Barth received his bachelor's degree in real estate finance and holds graduate degrees in law and business from the University of San Diego.  His career in real estate began in 1981, and he has since attained a very broad professional background, including brokerage, finance, law and development.

Prior to law school, Jim was a Senior Vice President with Charterhouse Investment Company, where he was involved in structuring commercial real estate joint ventures as an exclusive representative for some of the nation's premier lenders. Upon arriving in Park City, Utah, Jim spent several years as in-house counsel with Prudential Coleman Real Estate, serving as Director of the Coleman Consulting Group, which specialized in entitlement, pre-development and brokerage-related matters throughout the Intermountain West.

In 1992, Jim became a partner with the law firm of Johnson, Holbrook and Schifferli, LLC, specializing in transactional real estate matters, including representation of some of the area’s most prominent property owners and real estate interests.

In 2003, Jim retired from the practice of law and transitioned to a full-time Broker.  During his first year selling resort investment real estate, Jim was honored by the Park City Board of Realtors with the "Rookie of the Year" and "Professional Achievement” awards.  Jim received these awards not only for his outstanding achievement in real estate sales and service, but most importantly, for his high regard for the ethics of his profession.

Jim served for more than a decade on the Park City Planning Commission, which he chaired for three terms.  Jim also served on the Summit County Planning Commission and was Chairman of the Summit County Water Concurrency Board.

Jim and his wife, Nancy, relocated to sunny St. George, Utah in 2016 and have two sons currently attending the University of Utah.
